Scheduling The Session

Try to schedule your session when you have time and won't feel stressed to get somewhere else.  While the length of each session varies, plan on 45 minutes to an hour.

If you feel like you might be getting sick or just don't feel well, please call to re-schedule.  If you don't feel well, it will reflect in your pictures.

What Should I Wear?

I can't answer this for you, but I can give you some tips to keep in mind:

  • Avoid shirts or jackets with herringbone, checkers or other similar patterns.  They create an effect that is hard to retouch.
  • Avoid shirts or jackets with large stripes.
  • Avoid plain white unless you will wear a jacket, as sold white doesn't photograph as well as colors.  Even with a jacket, some shade of blue or grey usually works best for men.
  • Avoid shiny materials.
  • If you wear glasses and have more than one pair, please bring them all.
  • Wrinkles on clothing are hard to remove in post-processing.  Please make sure that your clothes do not need to be ironed.  Feel free to bring your outfit on a hanger if that works best.
  • Women should avoid sleeveless or short sleeves, or bring a jacket or sweater to wear over your top.  Bare arms in a headshot draw attention away from your face.
  • Avoid accessories if possible, or keep them to a minimum.  Please remember that your face is the subject of the photo, not your outfit.
  • Please keep any makeup light and natural.
  • Men should make sure that your shirt and jacket fit properly.  Well-fitting clothes is crucial to a professional look.
  • If you have any questions, please bring several different choices and we can select the best option together.
